  Australian Mint.
The first item is the 2006 Gold Plated Silver Kangaroo. This coin continues

  bought this coin from a dealer who claims it's authentic, but to me it doesn't
  look it. It appears to have burn marks on it, which actually looks like bronze

  and gold coins??
The gold has "900" on the bottom of the reverse, and the silver
  has "1000",
  signifying the metal content?
He showed some people locally, and he was told

  PCI is not one of the top “best” companies
  for getting coins graded, but from some of the scans I have seen on E-bay some
  of the newer companies are really, really screwed up on grading. One example
  I saw a Liberty nickel graded VF-20 by SEGS that by looking at the picture
  it was AT BEST G-4.

It was a 2 "man" show, him and his wife (Dealers). Well I must admit 2006 is off to a great start with the Nevada Statehood Quarters!

Could it be that the third party grading companies really don't believe 100 point grading would fly but by kicking the idea around and never adopting it, perhaps it makes people more amiable towards 11 uncirculated grades. Or perhaps they think it does. Kind a like a play on "bad cop, good cop." ?

Hi all,

In my years of collecting I have found that many coin collectors are also "crossover" collectors. That is they have other interests or collections that they follow beside coins.

I collect Royal Doulton figurines, Stamps and Comic Books. Not so much the comic books anymore. I really like the Royal Doulton figurine and U.S. Stamps however.

I'm hoping someone here can explain this mystery. I'm amazed at the demand for pennies. For the last 30 years or more, The US Mint has made around 10,000,000,000 pennies a year. Over thirty years that would be about 1,500 pennies for every man woman and child in the USA.

Did you read the article that Coin World published about the new ANA grading book to be released shortly?

From what I understand there have been some grading standards changed. The example they talked about was the Indian Head penny. It seems that the old requirement of having 3 letters shown is out and some can actually be graded Fine.

This is a very beautiful 1794 Liberty Cap copper large cent. It has been graded by ANACS to have EF details, corroded-cleaned, VF30 net condition.
